La Garrigue
www.lagarrigue.co.uk
La Garrigue is the name given to the beautiful arid land in the Languedoc region of France which stretches all the way from the Cevennes to the coast and from the Camargue to the Pyrenees. But here in Edinburgh La Garrigue means a welcoming restaurant with wonderful food from the kitchen of Jean Michel Gauffre.
La Garrigue is simple and stylish. A cross between an up-market restaurant and a French bistro, the ambience is friendly and relaxed. Specialising in French country cooking exclusively from the wild and rural Languedoc region, which borders Catalonia on the sunny Med, La Garrigue offers genuinely alternative food whilst keeping the Gallic stamp of quality. Traditional rustic French dishes are enlivened by a modern touch. Many of the ingredients for the menu dishes are unique to the Languedoc region and are sourced directly by Jean Michel. And, not surprisingly the selection of wines offered are also from the Languedoc region — which means quality wines at very reasonable prices.
